Our Mission

Monies raised will continue to fund scholarships and help others in need throughout the year. We celebrate giving and encourage more, better and smarter giving to work together for the good of the community.

Payne’s Promise…

Often than not greatest acts of charity are accompanied by a great loss. Throughout life we give donations to those asking to help support a cause not knowing the depth of their connection or the cost at which they’ve become involved with this cause. Unfortunately for my family most of Kansas knows our situation. Or maybe it’s fortunate for us so we can reach more in sharing our daughter Kenzie’s life aspirations. Our cause is…..Payne’s Promise Scholarship Fund and Charity.

Ongoing Causes

See all the ways we have been raising monies to go towards scholarships and help others in need throughout the year.

Garmin (DK) Dirty Kanza

24 riders riding in the Garmin DK, for a fund raiser for Kenzie Payne Memorial Fund. Dirty Kanza Promotions was founded in 2006 by Jim Cummins, with the assistance of fellow cycling enthusiast Joel Dyke. At that time, gravel grinding was just beginning to catch the interest of the endurance cycling community. However, Jim had grown up in the Flint Hills of east central Kansas and had been riding gravel for decades. Inspired by some of the early gravel grinder events… and convinced the Flint Hills had the best gravel to be found anywhere in the world, Jim and Joel decided to create Dirty Kanza 200. We hope you will choose to join us in Emporia, Kansas the first weekend after Memorial Day. Thousands of riders from around the country come and participate in this event.

Thank you all for helping keep Kenzie memories alive and riding for her!

Flint Hills Gravel Ride/Run

April 10, 2021

Flint Hills Gravel Ride/Run in 2021 will be partnering and supporting a local charity by way of their memorial fund. Payne’s Promise is a local group started in memory of their daughter, Mackenzie Payne. She sadly was taken from us far too early. She loved to push herself mentally through education and physically through sports including cycling. Payne’s Promise continually raises funding for The Mackenzie Payne Memorial Scholarship Fund.

When registering on Bikereg you will be given the option to donate to Mackenzie’s fund. Please take a moment to stop by their website at and their Facebook page

to learn of her story from the family’s own words.

Her family will be volunteering at FHGR on April 10th. When you see them make sure and say thank you for helping. They are also providing a little rider sticker swag as well.
Great people.

We’ve Raised over $20,000

Fundraisers: Facebook and direct donations, along with T-shirt sales, DK Jersey Sales, etc. Some of the monies went for (2) backpacks school giveaway and three Thanksgiving meals that were seperate from the scholarships.

Help Fulfill Payne’s Promise
